Ernest Normand was born in London and studied at the Royal Academy Schools. He is best known as a painter of history and orientalist paintings and portrait commission. René François Xavier Prinet (31 December 1861, Vitry-le-François – 26 January 1946, Bourbonne-les-Bains) was a French painter and illustrator who drew his subjects from middle-class society.
He was born to Henri Prinet, an Imperial Prosecutor in Vitry-le-François. A promotion led to him being posted in Paris, where they lived in a home not far from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. His father painted as a hobby and was supportive of his desire to study art, having him seek the advice of Louis Charles Timbal [fr], a well-known church painter and friend of the family.
Around 1880, he began his studies in earnest, in the studios of Jean-Léon Gérôme; remaining with him until 1885. That year, his painting "The Infant Jesus" was accepted for display at the Salon. This was followed by studies at the Académie Julian. At this time, he also became associated with a group of young artists known as the Bande Noire (Black Stripe), which included Lucien Simon, André Dauchez...

Léopold Stevens was the son of Belgian-born painter Alfred Stevens (1823-1906), and was taught to paint by his father from an early age. He did not attend an art school.
In 1887, Léopold Stevens met the then-unknown Claude Debussy, befriended him and introduced him to his family, who received him on a regular basis.
He received a travel grant in 1892. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, winning a bronze medal in 1900 for the Exposition Universelle; at the 1902 Salon, he was given an entire room at the Grand Palais.

Biography:
De Slovere Georges was born on August 4, 1873 in Bruges.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bruges and held grateful memories of his beloved master, Van Hove Edmond.
In 1895, he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels where he won numerous prizes.
His style is neo-impressionist.
He is a member of the National Association of Painters and Sculptors of Belgium.
In 1918, he became a professor at the Academy of Bruges.
He held this position until 1925.
Gustaaf Buffel was one of his students.
