Family Home by Burnham Design in Los Angeles

This is my own home. It’s a 1927 traditional, designed by Los Angeles architect Roland Coates. The exterior is ivy-covered stucco, and the rooms inside are generous in scale and architectural details like wainscoting, deep crown moulding and wrought iron detailing. The design is an eclectic mix of everything I love: English sofas, contrasting colors, animal print and ethnic fabrics, and contemporary art and photography. Over the years, I’ve done small remodeling projects, but the house has never had a major facelift and several original spaces remain to this day. I love old houses and use elements of mine as inspiration for many of my projects.
