Ballynahinch Castle, Ireland
Hotel by Bryan O'Sullivan Studio in IE
We tried to keep the essence of the existing hotel – for nothing to feel new but rather have everything looking fresher. A lot of visitors return every year, from all over the world, because of Ballynahinch Castle’s charm. Trying to hit that ethereal balance of keeping the homeliness of the hotel while bringing in a breath of new life was a real inspiration from the design perspective. A great deal of antique and vintage pieces were sourced to help accentuate the historical character of the spaces, and blended with new elements and existing furniture and art. Furthermore, no two rooms are the same so as to ensure the guests feel their room is a space curated over years, like a home, and continue revisiting to find new gems.
