The cover has been handcrafted by Lorenzo Foglia, a master goldsmith based in Florence. The creation of this piece spanned several months, involving meticulous techniques such as overhang and chasing. The artist started with a cylindrical single piece of silver, working from the inside to intricately chisel each detail of the horses. chiselling of the horses underscores the exceptional craftsmanship and great attention to detail that defines this exquisite cover.This inside-out approach significantly enhanced the complexity of the task, emphasizing the artisan’s dedication to achieving artistic perfection. Artist information
Lorenzo Foglia, was born in Viareggio in 1971. He grew up in his family workshop, and still very young, started working there together with his father and grandfather. There, he studied the art of metalworking and learned embossing and chisel techniques. During his career he created furniture and jewellery for the Royal Houses of Europe, the theatre and cinema. He won twice the international competition “Art in a jewel”, promoted by Florence Gift Mart. He is President of the Silversmiths of the city of Florence and he is “Master Craftsman” recognized by Tuscany Region, “OMA Craftsman”, and “Master of Art and Craft” for the Cologni Foundation of Milan.
Recently, he has been working with K-OVER for the project works of art. He signed all the champagne cover he chiselled.
