Champagne Bottle Cover, Luxury Art Accessories, Solid silver, Fantasy, Italy

About the Item

This champagne cover is a distinguished piece from our Works of Art collection, meticulously crafted to honor the renowned Surrealist artist Daniel Merriam. The Florentine artist has intricately chiseled a series of surrealistic images onto pure silver 999/°°, creating a mesmerizing and imaginative design. Handcrafted by Giuliano Foglia, a master goldsmith from Florence, the production of this K-OVER spanned several months and employed advanced techniques such as overhang and chasing. The core value of this piece lies in its artistic perfection, achieved through working with a single piece of silver. Notably, the three-dimensional effect realized through the chiseling of each component adds depth and intrigue to the cover, making it a true masterpiece. This K-OVER stands as a testament to Giuliano Foglia’s unparalleled craftsmanship and the enchanting world of Surrealism. Artist: Born in Florence in 1947, Giuliano Foglia grew up in his family’s “Bottega” in the San Frediano area, a hub of Florentine craftsmanship. Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, Giuliano began working in the 1960s, displaying remarkable skill in chiseling from a young age. Giuliano’s passion for his craft led him to master ancient techniques, specializing in the traditional method known as “caccia in fuori,” where the volume of the chisel is shaped using specialized tools. Renowned for creating his own tools, he excelled in designing, overhanging, and engraving intricate details. Throughout his distinguished career, Giuliano became famous for crafting large-scale objects such as candelabras, trays, and bowls, commissioned by both public offices and private clients to adorn villas and historic palaces. His notable works include Madonnas for significant basilicas and churches, eighteenth-century scenes, and fountains. Among his masterpieces are the Chalice of Saint Galgano, a renowned church in Tuscany, and the Cups for the San Marino Grand Prix (F1). Giuliano is celebrated as one of Italy’s finest chiselers, thanks to his extensive experience and exceptional craftsmanship. Recently, he collaborated with K-OVER on the Works of Art project, where his creation Battaglia di Porta Camollia was the first K-OVER realized. Technical Features K-OVER is a brand of P.M.P Firenze, a company with more than 40 years of experience in the silverware industry.
