About the Item
An Edwardian ruby, diamond, and yellow gold ring, comprising one large cushion shaped ruby, two large old European cut diamonds, and four rose cut diamonds, in 18 karat yellow gold.
This show-stopping ring is set to the centre with a large, cushion-shaped ruby. The ruby is a luxurious, deep reddish pink, with a wonderful depth of colour and saturation. The ruby is cushioned between a pair of large, old European cut diamonds. The old cut diamonds are exceptionally bright, white, and sparkly, with excellent colour, cut, and clarity. Small, glittering rose cut diamonds accent the piece, adding depth and contrast against the bright, white diamonds. The ruby and diamonds are held aloft by a hand-carved, scrolling gallery. The chunky shoulders of the ring lead to a plain, polished band of yellow gold. This is a piece of exceptional quality. The ring is in great condition. The ruby has a small amount of wear to the crown facets, as would be expected in a ring of this age. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The setting of the ring measures 7.9mm high, and 17mm wide. The band measures 1.1mm wide at the back. The ring rises 4.1mm off the finger.
