2.9 Carat Pink Tourmaline Engagement Ring with Baguettes in Platinum & Gold
About the Item
A beautiful, richly hued dark pink tourmaline, ethically sourced and lovingly cut by master Tennessee gemcutter Dan Lynch, looks completely at home in a timeless three-stone setting.
The ring is a classic platinum Deco-era cathedral setting with 0.10 carat tapered side baguettes and a center basket for a three carat diamond. By the time this ring landed in our shop, the center diamond was gone, and the platinum band (the part that doesn't include the stone mountings) had been replaced with a 14 karat gold locking shank. Rather than resetting the ring with a diamond, we jumped at the chance to show off Dan Lynch's beautiful tourmaline.
The tourmaline, naturally but minimally included, is cushion-shaped with a modified brilliant cut and measures just under 9mm square with a weight of 2.9 carats. The stone is prong-set and the total elevation (the distance from the stone's table to the wearer's finger) is 9.2mm.
The tapered baguettes are earth-mined, natural and untreated diamond: 5.2mm long, with an estimated weight of 0.10 carats each.
The ring itself weighs 5.5 grams.
With regard to the locking band, please note that we will replace it with a shank sized to your specifications, unless, of course, you happen to be a size 6.25 and would prefer a locking band.
The replacement shank will be a sleek half-round or squared (your choice) platinum band, sized to your specifications.
(Locking bands are extremely expensive, so we didn't want to remove it on the (admittedly unlikely) chance that the ring's buyer has a size 6.25 finger AND is thrilled to have this feature.)
