Old Cut 1.02 Carat Diamond Engagement Ring Ruby Platinum
About the Item
Beautiful ring with an amazing old European cut diamond weighing 1.02 ct. The frame is in platinum and is studded with rubies. The center stone was cut by hand during the 1920s and 1930s.
The ring is of recent construction, and is the work of excellent craftsmen while the central diamond is an ancient diamond so as to have a jewel that offers the best of both worlds. A truly ancient diamond full of history set in a modern, strong and durable ring for everyday use. This stunning ring with an iconic Art Deco design is studded with high quality diamonds and is punctuated by a rich single red ruby which has been custom cut, the platinum bezel has been masterfully hand crafted.
More precisely, the 1.02-carat center diamond is eye-clean and rated SI1 for clarity. The primary inclusion is located towards the side of the diamond, it merges with the facet and the brilliance, it is therefore invisible to the naked eye. The Diamond is graded H for the color and is wonderfully white and gives a fabulous brilliant effect in contrast with the intense red of the rubies. Diamonds from this tenuous period to show some warmth, so it's rare to find one with such a beautiful white color!
Overall it is an extraordinary diamond. The accents diamonds are of high quality. Beautifully white, exceptionally clean, and have been graded F-G for color and VS for clarity.
Rubies are of a rich saturated red color. They are specially cut and set, with exceptional craftsmanship. Each ruby has been selected and cut exactly to fit the ring. Diamonds and rubies are all natural stones. The frame has been handcrafted from solid platinum and features a beautiful and intricate filigree background gallery.

There is no paterfamilias shuffling in the background at the jewelry company, a 10-year-old luxury brand based in Rome that specializes in engagement rings and statement rings set with jumbo-size diamonds and colored gems of the highest order. Although all four founders — husband-and-wife duos Alessandra Antinori and Andrea Landolfi, and Alessandro Cutelli and Silvia D’Ambrosio — hail from small family jewelry businesses founded in the 1970s, Antinori Fine Jewels is an independent force. The dynamic quartet of mindsets and skill sets is united by a single goal: to take the business of making and selling high-end Italian jewels out of the past and into the present.
Before launching Antinori Fine Jewels, Alessandra Antinori — the company‘s international sales director and spokesperson — and her cofounders spent years acquiring experience in the jewelry centers of Rome.
“We have inherited from our parents the right connections with local jewelers, gemologists and artisans who still craft jewelry as they did one hundred years ago,” she tells 1stDibs.
