About the Item
An antique diamond and yellow gold ring, comprising one large old mine cut diamond, set in 18 karat yellow gold, to a band of 18 karat yellow gold.
This striking ring is set to the centre with a large old mine cut diamond. The diamond is arrestingly bright, white, and sparkly, and has excellent clarity, and good symmetry. The diamond is held within a claw setting, the style of which is known as a belcher setting, thought to be named as such after a famous boxer who wore such rings to hold his scarf in place. The chunky shoulders lead to a plain, polished band of yellow gold. This is a truly exquisite ring, set with a tremendously beautiful diamond. The ring is in great condition. The ring measures 8.2mm wide at the front, and the band measures 2mm wide at the back.
