Sphene (Titanite) Exotic Gemstone Ring 4.05 Carats, Flashy & Fragile & Rare
About the Item
This gorgeous one-of-a-kind ring features a rare gem known by two names: sphene or titanite. From a 3/4 angle in low light, it looks like the finest peridot gem. But add some light and it's fire rivals the finest diamond. Move your hand even the slightest and behold a gemstone so rare you've likely never heard of it; wildly vivid chartreuse gemstone with nearly the of a diamond. Flashing every color -even the colors between the colors- one name was not enough for this stone so it has two: sphene and titanite. It's a favorite among gem collectors because of its numerous unique properties but also because it's just so incredibly beautiful and dynamic; the stone is always *doing* something. Sparkling, flashing every intense color of the spectrum.
It's extremely rare to find a sphene of this collector-grade quality set into a piece of jewelry, which makes this ring quite the treasure. The 14k white gold setting has delicately pierced shoulders subtly suggestive of hearts and is set with tiny, sparkly white diamonds totaling approximately .18 carats.
If the gemological name titanite sounds more like a metal than a gem, that's because titanite contains titanium -and even several rare earth elements.
Household dust is mostly quartz. And quartz is a tough mineral that will scratch a lot of things, including this gem. You'll want to be mindful of where and how you wear this dazzling ring. This is not a ring you wear every day, it's your special, "What is that gemstone???" center-of-attention ring.
It's marked for purity and has its maker's hallmark. Currently a size 6 1/4, the ring rises approximately 6.30 mm from the top of the finger.
Your jeweler could resize this ring with a laser welder if you need a different size.

Jade & Pearl Ring Certified Untreated
Located in Southbury, CT
A large oval cabochon of translucent seafoam green jadeite jade is surrounded by 16 luminous natural pearls in this ever-stylish 14K white gold halo ring from the early 1950s.
The jade stone is natural and untreated and displays a high degree of translucency. Which is why this jade ring looks spectacular whether it is in direct sunshine, or just barely illuminated by the waning light of a nearby window. The luminous jade stone changes its appearance throughout the day, as the light changes. The jade cabochon measures 14.5mm x 9.19mm
Seafoam green was pointedly on-trend in the 1950s when this ring was hand-fabricated. The pearls surrounding the jade are at least partially drilled —possibly they are drilled all the way through; I can't tell because of how they are set in the mounting. At least one and probably all of the pearls are natural, un-cultured saltwater pearls. They are older than the ring itself. It's not unusual to encounter repurposed jewelry...

Fire Opal Ring Retro Certified 5.5 Carats Circa 1940s
Located in Southbury, CT
A spectacular and utterly unique 14K yellow gold ring from the Retro era (circa 1940s) featuring six cabochons of natural fire opals from Mexico. These gorgeous and highly-prized gems measure from 9.2mm x 6.7mm to 8.8mm x 6mm. They display orange, orange-yellow sand orange-pink coloring. The dazzling gems weigh approximately 5.5 carats. The face of the ring measures 30mm x 28mm, so it's an impressive and bold ring.
The interior is marked for 14K gold but there is no maker's mark. Yet the production quality is extraordinary. The gold metalwork is expertly executed and very whimsical and creative.
This bold, flashy, and fun ring is a size 7 and you're jeweler could resize it for you. This ring ships with a certificate from Stone Group Labs stating that these are precious fire opals...
