Certified 40 Carat Natural Unheated Ceylon Yellow Sapphire Diamond Cocktail Ring

About the Item

Certified 40-carat natural unheated Ceylon (Sri Lankan) yellow sapphire, ruby and diamond cluster cocktail ring in 14kt yellow gold. Made in an unusual warm alloy that is in between yellow and white gold, this vintage jewel features a rare cushion mixed-cut natural yellow sapphire of an incredible eye-clean clarity double talon claw-set to the center, surrounded by an elegant halo of 40 colorless single-cut diamonds, the shoulders further accented with a pear-shape purplish-red ruby on each side, all stones in open-back settings with an openwork scalloped gallery, leading to a solid D-shape gold shank. Sapphire: Cushion mixed-cut; 40.00 carats; Light Yellow color; eye clean clarity; no indications of treatment; origin opinion Sri Lanka (Ceylon); accompanied by World Gemological Institute report WGI9624130838 (dated 09/09/2021). Diamonds: 40 stones; single-cut; 0.40 carats in total; G-H color; VS2-SI1 clarity. Rubies: 2 stones; pear-shape; 0.20 carat in total; pinkish-red color. Dimensions: finger size 54.5 with sizing beads (EU), but it can be sized up or down. Gross weight: 13.9g. A stunning, fine and impressive 6.25 carat Ceylon sapphire and 3.75 carat diamond, platinum dress ring; part of our diverse antique jewelry collections. This stunning antique sapphire dress ring has been crafted in platinum. The pierced decorated, cluster arrangement displays a stunning feature 6.25Ct cushion cut Ceylon* sapphire, bezel set in relief to the center of the design. The sapphire is encompassed with eighteen impressive individually claw set Old European round cut diamonds. The outer border of the surrounding setting is embellished with a further twenty claw set Old European cut diamonds, held within a scalloped edged design. The pierced scroll decorated, elevated ring shoulders blend with the main setting and meld with the plain ring shank at a subtle collared design. The outer surface of the shank is hallmarked with the Portuguese mark for platinum (seagull); this variation of mark denotes the piece was assayed in Lisbon. This stunning cluster ring is supplied with a sapphire report card and certificate supplied by the Gemmological Certification Services, London**, in addition to a diamond grading report card for the supporting diamonds. NOTES: * Ceylon sapphires (mined only in Sri Lanka) are known for their unique color, ranging from very pale blue to vibrant almost electric blue. The colors noted within Ceylon sapphires occur naturally and do not tend to be heat treated, the most sought after known as the cornflower blue. ** This documentation accredits the blue sapphire originating in Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and certifies that the gemstone shows no indications of heating; non-heated sapphires are a scarcity.
