Art Deco Ruby and Diamond Ring
About the Item
An Art-Deco ruby and diamond ring, the octagonal-cut Burmese ruby weighing 1.90 carats, surrounded by an openwork old cut and swiss-cut diamond-set frame, the diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 0.85 carats, all set in platinum, circa 1920, the head measuring approximately 1.35x1.9cm, gross weight 4.3 grams. This bright and sparkling Art Deco ring comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. It features a lovely fuchsia hued octagonal-cut ruby surrounded by a geometric openwork frame set with lively diamonds. The frame continues in a geometric pattern onto the shoulders of the ring, which are set with further diamonds. This ring exemplifies the glamour of the 1920s with its bright ruby, geometric design, and platinum setting.
