Victorian Antique Diamond Smiling Serpent Ring

About the Item

Why should the serpent not smile when a pear cut half carat diamond is on its forehead making it a serpent with an difference. It is the only pear shaped diamond I have seen in a snake ring in my career. Two brilliant cut diamonds, a point each are set behind Victoria chose such a ring upon her engagement to Prince Albert. The snake when coiled head upon tail becomes like a love knot and a symbol of eternal, unending love. This loving symbol of attachment can also honor a friendship. Our smiling snake is size 6 to 6 1/4. The head width is 9.2mm. wide. Band width 2.4mm. Weight 3.4g. Perfect condition. The ring is sizable by your fine jeweler or Glorious can have it done for you and charge you my jeweler's cost. There is quite a history of symbolism that serpent rings bring going back to the ancient Greeks who wore serpents to honor the God Asclepius, the healer. Victorians were educated in Greek history and knew the snake was the symbol of good fortune, and good health. Ring sizable by your experienced jeweler. Glorious will size if wished charging you only the jeweler’s cost.
