ABOUT GREEN JADEITE Green Jadeite as a gemstone has plenty of history because it has been a part of people’s lives for many centuries. It’s mainly considered a symbol of serenity, tranquility, and purity. It’s a stone that’s believed to bring in good luck, friendship, peace, and harmony. They also symbolize perfection because of their indestructibility. ............................................. TYPE OF JADEITE Type A Jadeite – Natural form We consider this as the only accepted form that jadeite should be. Type A natural jadeite means that the subject qualifies to be free of any form of chemical treatment. As part of the polishing process, coating the jadeite with colorless wax is accepted so long as it does not damage the crystalline structure of the subject. After fine polishing, the jadeite item is dipped in heated wax of liquid form, and once cooled down it is buffed to give a smooth lustrous look much like the process of car waxing. Type B Jadeite – Chemically treated and resin infused Type B jadeite means that the subject has been soaked in acid which removes impurities or oxidation stains producing a “bleaching” effect. This process lightens the color of many materials including jadeite and leaves many holes or micro craters inside throughout the subject. Next, it is placed into a vacuum chamber where polymer resins are infused into it and after the final polish, the treated jadeite looks smooth and lustrous in color. Unfortunately, the appearance of Type B jadeite can change and deteriorate over time. The polymer resin can discolor and oxidize when exposed to heat and sunlight and turn yellowish. Type C Jadeite – Dyed coloring Typically, type C jadeite has undergone all the treatments of type B and with the addition of dyed coloring added to the polymer resin to produce an enhanced or additional coloring effect. Certain jade collectors look for jadeite items that come in three colors: green, white, orange, or purple. ............................................. Here is a handbag charm / drop pendant necklace made with natural jadeite jade. It is certified. There are many different colors of jade that are represented in this handbag charm / drop pendant necklace. You have all the colors of the rainbow. Amongst the colors are the more rare apple green, lavender, and "red" Jade. There are also some icy jades in this group. This was an old old piece that we acquired over 20 years ago. It was previously used as a charm hanging on a bird cage to bring good luck. Wearing the jade where it touches your skin will also bring good luck. Natural materials with good colors like this are getting harder and harder to find. As a business stand point, no one in their right mind would make a piece like this because of the large amount of natural jade material needed. Now a days this would have been made into many pairs of earrings in order to make the most return. The untreated / unenhanced natural jade is translucent. Please refer to the detailed photos. The handbag charm / drop pendant necklace is put together with a traditional chinese string / cord. It took many hours to skillfully put this together. The string cord is adjustable to more than 25 inches and would easily go around your neck. A collector would want this piece for their collection. This would be a great gift for that special someone.
