About the Item

Antique pendant/brooch with hand carved Shell cameo depicting Demeter - Greek Goddess of the harvest and agriculture, who presided over grains and the fertility of the earth She has a laurel of ear - wheat on her forehead which is her typical symbol since ancient times. Carved with great accuracy and attention to detail. Likely an Italian piece dating to ca. late 19th - early 20th century All parts of the frame are made of solid 14K Rose Gold. Measurements: cameo 40 mm x 33 mm, whole pendant including the loop 50 mm x 34 x 10 mm deep. Weight: 9.6 gr Used fine condition. Great - looking cameo, the frame has its original reversible loop and original pin safety catch. The cameo is intact and securely framed. Demonstrates very well.
