Ancient Greek 4th Century BC Pegasus Coin Granulated 18K Gold Pendant

About the Item

An authentic Corinthian style silver "Stater" coin from the ancient Greek colony of Anactorium, Arkanania 350-300 BC is centered within a Steven Battelle designed stacked double layer "jawan" granulated 18K setting. Pegasus was a winged horse that was said to have sprung from the blood of the Gorgon Medusa after she was slain by the hero Perseus. Pegasus was a symbol of freedom and imagination, and was often associated with poets, artists, and dreamers. According to legend, Pegasus was a loyal and noble creature, and was often ridden by heroes and gods. The opposite side of this coin features Athena in a Corinthian helmet. This pendant is sent with a laminated coin certificate of authenticity. The 18K handmade hammered chain shown is not included, but can be ordered additionally. It comes in 18”, 20”, and 24” lengths. We discount our chains 20% when ordered with a pendant. A historic and classic heirloom!
