Ancient Greek 4th Century BC Corinth Pegasus Stater Diamond 18K Gold Pendant

About the Item

An authentic Corinthian silver stater coin from 375-300 BC is showcased in a Steven Battelle designed double line texture bezel with a 1.8 mm diamond accent on the bail. The opposite side of the coin features Athena in a Corinthian helmet. In Greek mythology, Pegasus was a winged horse that was said to have sprung from the blood of the Gorgon Medusa after she was slain by the hero Perseus. Pegasus was a symbol of freedom and imagination, and was often associated with poets, artists, and dreamers. According to legend, Pegasus was a loyal and noble creature, and was often ridden by heroes and gods. Pegasus was also said to be able to create fountains of water wherever he struck his hoof, and was believed to be able to fly to the heavens and back. This pendant comes with a laminated coin certificate of authenticity. The chain shown is not included but can be ordered additionally. We discount our chains 20% when ordered with a pendant. A classical image!
