Carved Aquamarine Pendant with Sapphire Bead Tassel. Inspired by Egyptian and Sumerian rolling seals, this 100ct hand-carved aquamarine pendant was turned from a 200ct plus piece of rough, reported to have been mined in Kenya at the end of the 19th century. Kenyan Aquamarine is extremely rare and is characterized by its sea foam color. Examples in this size are extremely rare. Hand-carved in Germany by masters of the miniature, this crystal features two owls perched within gothic arches and inscribed in Latin with the words “aude sapirre” (‘dare to be wise’) and “amabit sapiens” (‘wise men love’). Suspended between platinum caps with leaf motif top and bottom and set with 48 diamonds weighing 1.31 total carats, suspending a tassel of graduated sapphire beads weighing approximately 6.00 total carats, and worn on a lovely midnight blue silk cord. A stunning antique 10.97 carat aquamarine and 1.57 carat topaz, 1.42 carat diamond and platinum necklace; part of our diverse antique jewelry and estate jewelry collections. This stunning, fine and impressive antique pendant has been crafted in platinum. The drop style pendant has a scalloped edged, pierced decorated quatrefoil design, ornamented to the center with a claw set round mixed cut aquamarine. The millegrain decorated setting is embellished with four bezel set Old European round cut and eighty-eight pavé set Dutch cut diamonds. The feature setting suspends from a four claw set 1.57Ct cushion cut blue topaz via two articulated linear drops. The articulated linear drops are each set with three bezel set Old European round cut diamonds. The pendant suspends from a 17" fine belcher chain via two ring loops to the upper border of the topaz setting, securing with a conventional spring loaded bolt ring fastening to the reverse. This 1920s aquamarine and diamond pendant has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as platinum.
