The mesmerizing power of pearls is legendary. Pearls were and continue to be the most valuable of jewels- well documented in Royal portraits - Queen Elizabeth I, King Ferdinand V, Indian Majarajas, Chinese Empresses, Elizabeth Taylor of Hollywood royalty. Among the most astounding is the Hope Pearl, once part of the famed Hope collection and now in the British Museum of Natural History in London. This 450 carat jewel displays a stunning combination of colors - greenish-gold, greyish-purple, cream and cocoa. Similar array of colors are on show in this spectacular and unique Yvel necklace. This breathtaking necklace features fifty nine baroque shaped pearls in an extraordinary range of colors- aubergine, cocoa, shades of gray, gold and celadon green. Seventy five fancy cut yellow, ochre and champagne diamonds, approximately 10 carats in total, are artfully set between the pearls to highlight the lustre of each. Pearls: 59, Baroque, cultured, excellent lustre, multi-colored, 9.5 to 14.5mm each Diamonds: 75, 10TCW, fancy cut, yellow, ochre and champagne, varying shapes and hues Marks: Yvel, 750 for 18K gold Excellent condition A similar bracelet by Yvel, possibly a companion to this nacklace, won the 2006 Town & Country Couture Design Award. Established in 1986, Yvel is a creative, innovative, award winning company which has attracted many celebrity clients including Madonna, Scarlett Johansson and Rihanna. They have carried out commissions for esteemed companies such as Chanel and Tiffany's to be sold under their own names.
