Coco Chanel Green and Red Art Deco Glass Necklace circa 1930

Exquisite and hard to find (large) Chanel simulated gemstone necklace "sautoir", comprised out of alternating joint gilt metal "metal dore" beads, large simulated baroque pearls, green and red "pate de verre" poured glass Gripoix, and diamante rhinestones. The necklace is accented by a large red "poured glass" drop at the bottom. Made by Maison Goossens in a Renaissance manner for Chanel - signed Chanel 1983. This rare necklace is a fine example of 1980's Chanel fashion jewelry.

Cutting the round structure also creates a great deal of excess– about 90% of the rough opal is cut away to create just one bead.
