Contemporary Art Nouveau Abstract Organic Silver & Orange Red Glass Earrings
About the Item
Award-winning Tara Lois was influenced by the Art Nouveau style when she designed these contemporary organic earrings. The slightly asymmetric abstract curves in each earring have been handcrafted in the contour of a hill in Gozo, Malta, from sustainable sterling /925 silver, set with complementary asymmetric ombre Maltese glass in hues of yellow, orange. red and black.
International award-winning Tara Lois, designs and handcrafts sought after sculptural jewellery which has featured in fashion magazines including British Vogue and Vanity Fair and exhibited at Munich and Milan Jewellery Week.
These eye-catchingly colourful earrings are a fusion of Tara Lois’ “Positive Spaces” Limited Collection and her “Malta Hills” Collection of individually unique jewellery designs. The collection explores the importance of positive and negative spaces in artistic composition, as the void in this design has been filled with colour.
Sustainable hand drawn silver wire has been formed into the contour of Gordon Hill which houses Gozo’s famous lighthouse, and tapering orange shards of glass from world famous Mdina Glass has been transformed in the jewellery creation process in a kiln at 800 degrees Celsius.
Pendants exist in both collection with orange and different coloured glass, even without glass altogether, which would complement these stunning earrings.

Tara Lois Jewellery
Since Tara Lois created her first jewelry in 2013, she has won many international awards for her designs, craftmanship and sustainable practices, appeared in magazines such as Vogue and Vanity Fair, as well as exhibiting at major events like Milan Jewellery Week.
But the most precious accolade is the number of returning clients, some of whom are also jewelry collectors. Her talent is extraordinary, as she sculpts creations which are a fusion of contemporary design with ancestral techniques, capturing the essence of an emotion, memory or narrating a story in precious materials.
Her influences are multi-national, with her studio on a small Maltese island, surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, and having studied in the UK as well as growing up in France. She understands elegance and luxury.
Tara’s visual style may vary but it is always underpinned by strong sweeping curves accented with delicate gemstones, fragile glass, vitreous enamel or filigree. Some of her designs have been called “elven-like” featuring Maltese filigree, which is the ancient technique of patiently and painstakingly curving and twisting impossibly thin hand drawn wire into delicate designs.
One of Tara’s promises, unless explicitly stated, is that she never recreates a piece of jewellery. Each jewel is unique, even if it forms part of a limited collection. Tara guarantees you will never see two designs which are identical.
