About the Item

An old 18K brooch dating from ca. early 20th century with an openwork crown decorated with eleven old European cut Diamonds set in Platinum, back sides open. Largest Diamond Ø 2.5 mm / ca. 0.08ct with next two on flanks both Ø 2 mm /0.04 ct. each + 2 x Ø 1.75 / ca.0.025ct + 2 x Ø 1.5 mm/ ca 0.02ct each + 4 last stones on both sides Ø 1 mm / ca. 0,0075. Total weight of Diamonds ca. 0.28 - 0.3ctw. Measures 65 mm long. Crown 35mm x 5mm at widest x 3 mm deep. Weight: 3.4 grams Hallmarked with Swedish period customs hallmark confirming 18K Gold alloy. All parts including the nail and lock parts made in solid 18K Yellow Gold with the crown's top in Platinum. Note the natural many decades old patina on 18K parts and the absence of any patina on Platinum parts. Stones with closed backs may seem darker than stones with open backs. Such nuances of color perception do not give any excuse to claim item to be not as described. Unfortunately Internet sales do not allow us to see the items in person before we get them by post. It is often difficult or impossible to get an accurate characteristics of the weight , color and nature of inclusions without removing the stones from the settings to be weighed and examined and doing that may damage the piece.
