Circa 1950-60s, 14k, by Preston Monongye, Hopi, American. Set with heishi bead motif turquoise and ebony in yellow gold, this early modernist Hopi bracelet flawlessly tempers contemporary design with Southwestern sensibilities. The look is side walk to catwalk, as comfortable on the beach as at fashion week. Its creator, Preston Monongye, is a renowned Hopi artist with pieces in major museums and private collections around the world. Excellent condition. Sterling silver overlay cuff by Hopi silversmith Chalmers Day. The cuff features a pictorial overlay design. The inside is 5 3/4" with a 1 1/4" gap for a total length of 7". Sterling Silver is malleable so it has some give. Width measures 2.64" straight across the widest part (from wrist bone to wrist bone). Bracelet face measures .70" tall (the face of the bracelet, north to south). Bracelet depth from top to the underside of wrist is 2.16". Stamped sterling along with maker's mark.
