This exceptional jadeite jade bangle is one of the legendary Duan Family Jades (段家玉), originating from a remarkable 150kg jadeite boulder discovered around 1920 by jade merchant Duan Shengcai in Yunnan's Qiluo Village. This piece represents an extraordinary piece of Chinese jade history, being one of approximately 400 pairs crafted between 1920-1930 from this unique boulder during the Republican period.
The bangle exhibits the distinctive characteristics of authentic Duan Family Jade: exceptional transparency reminiscent of glass, with mesmerizing blue-green "floating flowers" (飘花) that appear to drift like aquatic plants in clear water. These patterns shift and dance with changing light, creating an almost three-dimensional effect. The stone's unique composition results in a slightly higher density than typical jadeite and superior hardness, making it extraordinarily rare and valuable for both collectors and researchers.
