About the Item

Early 19th Century Italian carved-wood in high relief composed of various types of woods set into a marquetry panel with flat inlaid scrolling fruit tree foliage. The piece is comprised of The Virgin Mary handing an apple to Jesus as a child, which alludes to him as the future Redeemer Of All Mankind. The piece is mounted on a Lucite panel and framed with a hand-finished re-claimed wood frame.
