A large figurative "and" abstract gouache painting on paper and mounted on canvas, powerful and colorful art work obviously expressing the artist's creative performance, at the crossover of Expressionist, Modernist, Cubist, Abstract movements. This impressive quasi-figurative composition seems to represent urban elements through strong lines and gestures, pushing the result at the limit of abstraction. This unique art piece expresses a modern feel with intense primary colors surrounded by black lines, in spectacular panoramic dimensions. It is unsigned and to be attributed, France 1950-1960. The author must have been inspired 'and perhaps close to) by the major early modern french painters such as Pablo Picasso, Fernand Léger, etc... The singular quality of gouache paintings (matte surfaces and intense colors) gives the painting a strong graphic input wich can easily be adapted in an interior architecture or decorative project.
