Striking Expressionistic Painting of the Pied Piper
About the Item
A large and well executed depiction of the legendary Fairy Tale of the Pied Piper. Full of activity with shouting children, a jumping dog and runners in the distance, the Piper , with cape blowing in the wind, leads the crowd away, never to be seen again. A charming large canvas with the Pied Piper surrounded by dancing children and a dog, with the village in the distance. The painting housed in a stained pine frame appropriate to the country village theme of the art work.
Dimensions: 48" x 44" x 2 1/2" D
Condition: Please see detail photos. Various signs of age including slight scrapes lower left and upper left, the frame with a stable age separation and minor split along with some nicks which do not detract from the dramatic and haunting presentation.
