Pair Unusual Framed Oil on Board Interior Scenes with Cats
About the Item
An unusual pair framed oil paintings on board of interior scenes with cats, one signed Edward Andrews and the other Emiliano Jnr and dated 1992. The almost square shaped paintings are of similar size and mounted in red and gilded antique style frames with both portraying lavishly furnished rooms within a stately home each painted with the same light grey-haired cat on a chair. The paintings are well executed with good attention to detail with extensive patterning to wall and soft furnishing fabrics. One is signed EDWARD ANDREWS ’92 and the other EMILIANO JNR ’92 and both are fitted with hanging wires. One is painted in landscape and the other in portrait format.
Provenance: Acquired in the UK art market.
In good condition with some wear and loss to the frames, but still display well.
