[Biography details]
Studied under Kinsei Kubota at the age of 17, Afterwards (Mei 44), he graduated from the Japanese Painting Department of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts and studied under Hiroyo Terasaki.
He was mainly good at landscape painting, and was also active in painting murals at the Meiji Painting Memorial Museum.
He received a medal at the 7th Bunten (Grade 2) for ``Nekka,'' and at the 1st Teiten, he received a special award for ``Asahi.'' Furthermore, he served as a judge from the 5th edition, and after the war, he also served as a judge at the Nitten Exhibition until the 6th edition. He passed away on January 26, 1950 at the age of 65. His representative works include ``Singapore Naval Port Immediately After the Conquest,'' ``Statue of Wahime no Mikoto,'' ``Mountain Baths in Early Summer,'' and ``Sunset Reflections of Muro.'
