Henry Markò, descendant of the Austrian painting dynasty of Andrea Markò, was born in Florence in 1855. His works mainly express his sensitivity towards nature, with a romantic vein inherited from 19th century trends. The depictions he prefers are mainly linked to the Tuscan and Ligurian hinterland, but he also paints panoramic city views, Florence, Rome Genoa. He died in 1921 in Lavagna (Genoa).
