A 1986 acrylic on paper painting by the American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Titled "Distant Wind," this abstract work depicts a bold and vibrant landscape filled with orange and blue hills dotted with bright green shrubs all under a pale blue sky. Signed to the lower right, the painting is titled to the lower left and dated to the verso. The painting is unframed.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-1990s. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, wax paintings, video art, sculpture, and more. His studios could be found in New York, California, Texas, Georgia, and Florida. Hilson and his wife, Jane, also ran a framing company called Fine Art Inc.
