Hermann Brücke (Berlin Ger. 1830–1871 Pisa Italy) Neapolitan fishing family signed and dated 1863
German Artist Hermann Brücke was a Genre, history and portrait painter.
He was the son of Johann Gottfried Brücke, a Berlin-based drawing teacher, portraitist, and history painter. His uncle was Wilhelm Brücke a landscape and architecture painter.
Hermann Brücke received artistic training from his father Johann Gottfried Brücke. From 1847-1849 he was a student at the Berlin Academy and he later studied with Paul Delaroche in Paris and with Louis Gallait in Brussels. From December 1856-1861 he remained in Rome, where he was a member of the German Art Association. In 1857 he participated in the "Cervarofest" (German-speaking artist's association in Rome).
He then worked as a painter in Berlin and was a board member of the Berlin Artists' Association.
