Splendid oil painting on canvas, framed in a carved and gilded pine wood frame with floral motifs. The painting depicts a gallant scene in an idyllic landscape, with ruins and trees. A young man bends toward a girl sitting among the wheat, offering her a basket of flowers. The girl is wearing a dress and refined footwear, while she seems to be enjoying a moment of rest. To enrich the scene, a cute little dog observes with curiosity the intense communication between the two characters. The artist's mastery emerges in the precision of the details and details, creating a highly evocative pictorial work. The painting can be attributed to a French painter active in the early 19th century, probably belonging to the school of Eugène Delacroix.
