CLAYTON DAVID INSLEY (Canadian 1908-1987) - 'Late Afternoon Snow in the Muskoka District' - Post Impressionist winter landscape oil painting on prepared hardboard - the painting featuring a heavy impasto technique creating an almost three dimensional effect of the Muskoka landscape - finished with a softwood parcel gilt frame with inset filet (likely original to the painting) - signed lower left by the artist - signed, titled, and dated verso - Canada (Ontario) - circa 1960.
Excellent vintage condition - no loss - no damage - no restoration - minor scuffs to the original frame - signs of age and use.
