Rare beautiful art deco portrait of a young woman in an elegant dress by Danish artist Folmer Bonnén (b. Randers 1885, d. Copenhagen 1960). The painting is signed by the artist Folmer Bonnén and also with the year 1922. The painting is oil paint on stone panel so the painting has the natural shape of the stone. The painting measures 62×41 cm and is unframed.
Folmer Bonnén (born February 17, 1885 in Randers, died October 10, 1960 in Copenhagen) was a Danish painter. He was a student of Kristian Zahrtmann, who greatly influenced him and awarded him his scholarship after a controversial exhibition with The Thirteen in 1909. Bonnén founded his own school, where he educated, among others, Maggi Baaring, Hans Scherfig, and Frederik Bramming. The three show that Bonnén allowed his students to develop according to their talent and not his dictates.
