19 Century Impressionist Farming Scene with Twin Horses
About the Item
A farming scene depicting a man sitting side-saddle on his white horse with a riding crop in his left hand. There are actually two horses (he sitting on one) and likely they are pulling a cart through a river stream. The rather dark foreground is set against a cloudy but colorful sunset sky. A barn like building is shown on the upper right hand side of the painting some distance behind the bank of the stream. The paining is unsigned and is presented ina period gilt wood carved frame.
