18th Century Oil on Canvas Painting of Young Christ in Temple with Teachers

About the Item

In this original oil on canvas painting, the young Christ is found in the temple in Jerusalem, conversing with teachers when discovered by his mother, Mary. Old repairs (seen on front and back), peeling, scrapes, cracking/ craquelure, abrasions throughout are all reflective of age. Edges left raw and secured to simple wood frame (see photo of back). While this original oil painting will benefit from cleaning, we leave this decision to the discretion of the buyer.
