Small 19th Century round Palissy fish platter attributed to Thomas Sergent.
decorated with a fish on the center ,a snail, a snake, a butterfly , bugs and leaves.
4 inches diameter.
Thomas Victor Sergent was an active member of the School of Paris with others ceramists he made platters and other several others pieces like vases, tobacco jars, jardinières. He participated at several International exhibitions (London, Vienna, Amsterdam, and Paris). The School of Paris is composed by makers as Victor Barbizet, Francois Maurice, Thomas Sergent, Georges Pull, it's a group of ceramists who produced Palissy pieces at the end of 19th century.
