About the Item
Horse and dogs with pages, relief. Molded and polychrome alabaster. 20th century, following the model of MANTEGNA, Andrea (around 1431-1506).
Relief with frame decorated with elements of classicist influence (moldings, candelieri...) made of molded alabaster with polychrome. It shows a figurative scene: a richly caparisoned horse, with a page, and two large dogs with another male figure. Aesthetically, it is inspired by a fresco by Andrea Mantegna, located on the west wall of the Chamber of the Spouses of the Ducal Palace of Mantua (Italy), painted between 1465 and 1474.
