Remo Mario Trentini Reverse Oil on Glass
About the Item
Presenting a stunning piece of original and highly desirable fine art, namely Remo Mario Trentini reverse oil on glass of a Parisienne picnic and riverside scene.
Remo Mario Trentini (1915-1999) was a Dallas Surrealist Artist originally born in Innsbruck, Austria. He was raised in Roverato, a City in the Trento region of Northern Italy, nestled in the rugged Dolomite Mountains, a place he recalled often as a subject of his paintings.
After attending the Art Academy in Turin for 5 years, he moved to Paris to study after WW2. He returned to Italy in the mid-1950s where he and his family lived in Rome. In 1976, Trentini moved his family to Onawa, Ontario, then in 1980 when his son Silvio (who served as his translator) entered SMU, moved to the US.
Trentini worked from his home in Dallas, painting 7 or 8 hours a day on works in two markedly different styles. He made broadly impressionistic oil paintings on glass of places he knew during his lifetime (of which this painting is one of his times spent in Paris). He also painted detailed fantasy scenes in oil on canvas.
Trentini’s works are in Private collections in Dallas, Toyko, New York City, the Vatican and Rome, as wells as Ottawa, Canada, and the Collection of the British Royal Family.
His works have been exhibited in Dallas and other major Cities.
In our opinion, Trentini's works will become very, very desirable again, in the near future.
He was collected by some of the most well informed and serious art collectors in Texas and also in Chicago (where he also had a Gallery). A number of them have contacted us because of this painting !
Very, very few Trentini's have appeared on the Art Market and we can find no examples of his works selling at auction. This is unusual, as he was quite prolific and his works relatively recent i.e. within the last 40 years. This leads us to believe that the reason for their non appearance on the market is most likely because their owners 'love' them and have held on to them in their private collections. As people downsize their collections, we expect a number of Trentini's to appear on the market and the prices will SOAR !!!
This is your chance to get one at a 'knock down' or 'bargain' price, as this painting probably cost in excess of $30k directly from the artist in the 80's !

View AllMonumental Triptych Oil on Canvas Panels Of New Orleans French Quarter Houses
Located in Dallas, TX
PRESENTING a simply beautiful, monumental and imposing original work of contemporary art, namely, a Triptych oil on canvas panels of New Orleans Colonial/French Quarter Houses.
Unsigned and undated, but most definitely inspired by the World Renowned New Orleans artist, James Michalopoulos.
These were not painted by Michalopoulos, but were clearly inspired by him and his famous depictions of ‘wavey’ New Orleans houses. Also, they were created and painted in New Orleans, contemporaneously to when Michalopoulos was starting to become recognized, in the New Orleans (and greater) artworld.
The 3 panels work perfectly together as a visual feast and ‘connected’ work of art.
The panel on the left features a wavy blue, grey and yellow, French Quarter style 2 Story Wooden house, complete with Corinthian Style Columns, decks, railings, storm shuttered windows, etc. It has a deep blue sky with shimmering light reflections. The garden to the front, has steps leading to the house and has shrubs and flowers, that are continued into the 2nd or middle/center panel.
The middle or center panel incorporates the other side of the garden plants etc for continuity and it features a single story pink, yellow and white wavy French Quarter style house, with fabulous decor and complete with decks, railings, storm shuttered windows, etc. It has a deep blue sky with shimmering light reflections and a white moon, emitting swirling patterns of light. The garden to the front, has steps leading to the house and has shrubs and flowers, that are continued into the 3rd or right panel.
The right panel, features a wavy light...

A very early example of Garza's work.

Very nice signed on the bottom left by 'Manual Garza'. Also signed on the back and marked 'A-68'.
It is in its' original frame.'
It is extremely well painted, has 'plenty' of detail and has real quality !!
In an square Mexican (Baja) Frame. It features birds in flight (probably Quail) with pasture, trees, cactus, etc.
It has a loose leaflet all about the Artist, Manual Garza attached to the rear of the frame.
It also has its original price tag from the 1960's of $170.00.
What makes this painting all the more interesting and important is that Garza was only 28 years old when he painted this. It is a very early painting by him and does not feature a small red bird...
