About the Item

Very pretty, colorful and pop silkscreen print of Andy Mouse, Andy Warhol + Mickey Mouse, represents the famous mouse with a wig and sunglasses which are Warhol's distinctive attributes. The screen print is hand signed, numbered and dated. Color screenprint, on wove paper, with full margins. Andy Mouse is a beautiful color offset print, made in 1986. Series of only 30 numbered and signed copies. Signed, numbered and dated in pencil in the margin under the drawing on the right. Bears number 5 out of 30. Dated 1986. Sold framed. On a green background, the exultant human silhouettes, typical and beloved Haring characters stand out, but at the same time a cartoon figure is highlighted by lines of movement that seems to emanate from it: the mouse Andy Mouse. The work is very lively and pop. When Keith Haring met Andy Warhol in 1984, following his second exhibition in New York at the Tony Shafrazi Gallery, the pop artists quickly discovered a mutual admiration for the myth of Walt Disney and became friends. Keith Haring then invented the exuberant character of Andy Mouse, combining two halves of his two heroes: Andy Warhol and Walt Disney. From there was born the series of Andy Mouse screen prints created by the American artist Keith Haring in 1986. Warhol and Haring began collaborating in 1986 with this Andy Mouse series. Mickey Mouse appeared frequently in Haring's works and he even created a Mickey Mouse watch in 1986 for his Pop Shop Driven by his desire to show graffiti, Haring opened his first Pop Shop in 1986 in the SoHo district, a boutique where he sold his works and related products. This approach, very controversial in artistic circles at the time and nevertheless strongly supported by his mentor Andy Warhol, seems visionary today. His white chalk drawings are often found in public spaces and New York subways. Born May 4, 1958 in Reading, Pennsylvania, he was inspired from an early age by Walt Disney cartoons, particularly Mickey, and by his father, an amateur cartoonist. After briefly studying commercial art in Pittsburgh, Keith Haring came across an exhibition of Pierre Alechinksy's works and decided to pursue a career in fine art. He moved to New York in the late 1970s to take classes at the School of Visual Arts, and quickly became immersed in the city's graffiti culture. In the mid-1980s, he became friends with artists like Andy Warhol, founder of Pop Art, Kenny Scharf and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Lucky Bamboo Path Photo Taken by Peter Lik in Maui Hawaii, Green Bamboo, Framed
By Peter Lik
Located in Port Washington, NY
"Bamboo Path". Photograph / paper. Signed and numbered 229 of 950, Matte Black Frame Dimensions: 25" h x 39" w. including Frame Quote From The Artist?: Maui, Hawaii "The bamboo forest drew me in like a magnet. Walking through the forest paths was a totally Zen experience and I wanted to capture this feeling through my lens. I needed soft light for my delicate exposure - and total calm. My hike started out at first light — I knew finding the perfect section of the mile-long path would be challenging. There is never enough time in the day to get everything perfect — as composition is always critical. As the sun rose high, winds chimed throughout the forest. Although this sounded amazing, it created drama for shooting as I needed the forest to be perfectly still. I reached the falls at the end of...
