Mid Century Egg Table by Arne Jacobsen

About the Item

Arne Jacobsen Egg Table, model 3606, Side Table designed in 1952. This is a smaller version of the larger Egg Table designed by Arne Jacobsen to complement his "Ant Chair". It remained in production up to 1960 and was, typically, made in Rosewood or Teak veneer. Newer editions (re-productions) by Fritz Hansen are mostly featured in a walnut veneer. The table above is, most likely, in a Teak veneer with a natural wood grain i.e. the surface has a distinct natural texture and is not flat/polished. The table is in good condition without any major scratches or damages. The legs, originally in polished chrome, shows patina and some marks consistent with its age. Detailed condition report with close-up images available upon request.

The table is made from beach wood and has a beautiful table top veneer inlay made from Masur Birch (with a very distinct birdseye pattern) and fitted clasps in brass. Beside his collaborations with Frederica Furnitures and other Danish manufacturers, Børge Mortensen...
