Hand Crafted Sculptural Ceramic Side Table
About the Item
This side table is hand made in a white stoneware clay with a dolomite glazed top. Inspired by the soft sensual curves of the work of the sculptor Jean Hans Arp, Kerry Hastings makes her forms by hand using the ancient technique of coiling with ropes of clay. Once the piece is built, a liquid porcelain is brushed on which inlays into the incised lines that Kerry makes with a pottery tool, then burnished with an agate stone for a smooth as a pebble feel. Each piece is fired to 1200 degrees centigrade making this a robust table that can sit either inside or out.
