A single petrified wood drinks table (or stool). This petrified wood pedestal table has a smoothly polished top and natural, live-edge sides. The color palette is a beautiful mixture of rusty/browns, beige, and taupe. Petrified wood is a fossil, which over time, becomes so sturdy and dense that it is as heavy as marble, making it both an aesthetically pleasing and durable option for furniture. Some have damage from severe wind, lightning, flood, disease, or other natural disturbance so they need to be cut and removed before they fall. Others are fresh cut because people want them off their land. Salvage logging may reduce erosion, reduce intensity of future wildfires, and slow buildup of pest insects.
