French Late 18th Century Louis XVI Period Mahogany and Ormolu Games Table
About the Item
A beautiful and most elegant French late 18th century Louis XVI period Mahogany and ormolu electrified Tric Trac games table. The rectangular table is raised by square tapered legs with their original ormolu casters. The straight frieze displays wonderful veneered designs showcasing the stunning wood grain with a drawer at each side. Above is the original removable reversible top, with the original fitted gold tooled leather top on one side and fitted green velvet on the other with raised borders and ormolu accents at each corner. The top lifts off to reveal the exquisite ebony and ivory interior backgammon board and fitted ivory peg holes for keeping score with two central original ormolu electrified candle cups to add unique and most decorative lighting.
