Pennsylvania Gate-Leg Drop-Leaf Sheraton Dining Table in Cherry Wood, circa 1830
About the Item
An exceptional American Sheraton dining table from southeastern Pennsylvania, made of fine solid cherry that has fine figuring & is a light amber color. When open, the long drop-leaves are supported by gate legs with turned cylindrical legs, with incised rings at the top, & that end in an acorn foot. Leaves have the original iron hinges. The stream-lined design of this well-designed & crafted dining table works well in a contemporary as well as a traditional setting. Southeastern Pennsylvania, circa 1830. Makes a great auxiliary dining table in a small apartment placed behind a sofa or against a wall under a large-screen television or painting.
