Solid oak refectory table - UK, Late 18th century
About the Item
Rich with honest character, this antique oak refectory table seats eight. The cleated plank tabletop is raised on four chamfered square legs, granted further structural integrity by an ‘H’ style horizontal stretcher. There is a sense of restrained geometry to this wonderfully aged piece, which offers significant versatility in the home.
The weathered surface, made of four planks, is typical of centuries-old wood. There is some evidence of past woodworm.
