About the Item
There is an atmosphere of Italian grandeur and artisanal class around this large dining room table. A special piece that will quickly attract attention due to its round and sloping shapes and the combination of refined wood and stone.Let's start with the substantial round base. DesignThe sixteen interconnected parts wave very subtly towards the center. The drawing in the wood follows the direction and creates a surplus of dynamics. Before the middle part where the leg starts is reached, we see two raised edges of two different thicknesses. We should see this as a kind of transition to the beginning of the leg.This leg has a narrower neck in the middle and widens towards the top and is swallowed up in a shape similar to the foot. The luxurious appearance of the base is due to the mahogany wood and the classic shapes that were created without too many ornaments.A spacious round top crowns this base, with a double milled border around it forming the framework for the veneer. Clamped in the middle between the wood is a round top made of terrazzo. A multitude of gray colors alternate with soft pink tones and white accents and create a sublime combination with the wood. The appearance of this table fits in with the atmosphere of Osvaldo Borsani's earlier work.ConditionThis table is in very good condition and has minor signs of use considering its age. Small imperfections and cracks in the wood are part of this.
