Franz Xaver Sproll Extendable Dining Table in Elm

About the Item

Franz Xaver Sproll, dining table, elm, brass, Switzerland, 1940s This multifunctional dining table is a creation by Swiss designer Franz Xaver Sproll. In its most compact form design contains a square-shaped top. To expand its size, the top can be unfolded revealing two tops that are connected by brass joints. The distinctive feature of the table lies in its base with four legs expertly carved with an organic touch. An additional, smaller top is affixed underneath offering storage space. The elmwood exhibits a captivating all-over patina, enhancing the table's innate natural charm. Dimensions when not extended: 100 x 99.50 cm / 39.37 x 39.17 inches. Kindly take note that this table is in good, used condition with signs of age and use, including stains, spots and scratches. Restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier.
