English Georgian Style Banquet Dining Table This English Georgian-style banquet dining table is crafted from solid mahogany wood, and features a warm, reddish-brown finish. This table consists of two D-shaped end tables which can be used as consoles, a center section and two leaves. On slender legs, and a rounded rectangular top with two leaves, allowing it to expand for larger gatherings. The D shaped ends can be used as console tables or joined together as a dramatic center table. Its refined aesthetic and practicality make it a desirable piece for both formal dining and casual entertaining. Beautifully crafted with good, solid joinery. This table is identified as Georgian style due to its symmetrical form, emphasis on proportion and balance, and the use of a rich, dark wood finish. The slender legs and three main sections of the table make it a versatile way to entertain and are also characteristic of Georgian furniture design. Albert-Lucien Guenot (1894-1993) Guenot was a French decorator and furniture designer, born in Arcueil-Cachan, and schooled at the Ecole Boulle in Paris. Guenot immersed himself in “The Moderne Style” by working as a designer in the studio of Maurice Dufrene, in sculpted wood with Laurent Malcles, in sculpture with Paul Follot, in ironwork for Edgar Brandt, and briefly for architect Rene Crevel. From 1923 the balance of his career was at the Pomone design studio of Au Bon Marche department store in Paris. He became the chef d’atelier under director, Paul Follot.
